Vice-Governor Hana attends the 42nd edition of the Shrimp Festival in Muaná 5i4h4n

The traditional Shrimp Festival, held in the municipality of Muaná, in the Marajó archipelago, reaches its 42nd edition, promoting local culture and gastronomy, as well as boosting the region's economy.

This year, the festivities were closely followed by the vice-governor of Pará, Hana Ghassan, who highlighted the importance of strengthening and celebrating culture, especially in the year of COP 30.

“I am very happy to be here, participating in the Shrimp Festival in Muaná, on Marajó Island, enjoying this beautiful, welcoming celebration that boosts the economy of the region and the municipality. Through this event, we celebrate our culture, which is very important. So, today is a day of celebration, a very important day, and being here as vice-governor, representing the State Government, which works in partnership with the municipality, along with our state deputies, federal deputies, and the entire City Council. So, this union for the state is very important, so that we can advance more and more with public policies that we know are necessary and important,” emphasized the vice-governor.


On this occasion, the vice-governor delivered two ambulances and a backhoe to the municipality. The equipment strengthens the public safety and health of the city. The public equipment is the result of a parliamentary amendment from federal deputy Júnior Ferrari.

The municipal mayor, Marcos Paulo Barbosa Pantoja, known as "Birizinho," commented on the partnership with the State Government to ensure improvements for the population.

“Muaná is celebrating with the presence of our future governor of Pará, Hana. Thank you very much for the partnership you have had with our municipality; we are working for the people who need it most. And to say that the work does not stop; the work continues here in the municipality of Muaná. It is a day of celebration, a day to celebrate. Thank you for the backhoe, another ambulance to serve our riverside people in health, and we will continue working,” reinforced the municipal manager.

The festival was created to value the typical Muanense and Marajoara culture, as well as the musical rhythms most heard by the local population, such as brega pop, carimbó, calypso, tecnobrega, lambada, and traditional brega.

Shrimp Festival - The Shrimp Festival brings together important local artistic movements, such as ceramics and sculpture, for over 40 years. One of the largest popular festivals in the Marajó archipelago that celebrates, for 4 days, local culture and gastronomy.

During the festival period, the city becomes lively, boosting the economy, attracting tourists, and promoting Muanense and Marajoara culture.
