The second edition of the National Seminar on Agricultural Inputs (SENAGRI 2025) began this Tuesday (10) at the Hangar Convention Center in the Amazon, in Belém, considered the largest event in the sector in the country. Held for the first time in the capital of Pará, the seminar is promoted by the State Government, through the Agricultural Defense Agency of Pará (Adepará), and brings together specialists and representatives from various links in the production chains of Brazilian agribusiness.
With over 500 participants, the event was officially opened on Tuesday night, in a ceremony marked by the performance of the choir Vozes da Adepará, formed by 20 agency employees. The ceremony was attended by state and federal authorities, as well as representatives from agricultural defense agencies from all over Brazil.
The general director of Adepará, Jamir Macedo, highlighted the importance of the event for valuing the agricultural potential of the Amazon region and strengthening technical exchange between states.
“We have a very prosperous business environment focused on agribusiness. Pará has established itself as a national agribusiness powerhouse, and we are very happy to hold this event, which brings high-level discussions to our state,” he emphasized.
The Secretary of Agricultural Defense of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), Carlos Goulart, emphasized the relevance of SENAGRI in the current scenario, where Brazil has been recognized as a foot-and-mouth disease-free territory without vaccination.
“The event allows for broad discussion on defense systems and how to improve public policies to ensure sanitary safety. This international recognition reinforces the importance of the work developed by technical teams across the country,” he stated.
The state secretary of Agricultural Development and Fisheries (Sedap), Giovanni Queiroz, also praised Adepará's role in protecting Pará's production. “Our Adepará is successful, competent, active, and this makes a difference in ensuring the health of our agribusiness. You take care of the food produced in the field and the safety of what reaches the population's table,” he stressed.
